SL Media Making a Real World Splash

Two popular SL media sources are giving SLCC attendees stories worth holding onto, literally. Listed below are the press releases for SLNN and Metaverse Messenger about their exciting plans for paper copies of their magazines, scheduled to be distributed at this year’s SLCC:

SLNN to be the first to publish a high-quality real world glossy magazine about SL.
SUNSET BEACH - Second Life News Network (SLNN) is proud to announce a full-color,
52-page glossy magazine, SLNN Next. SLNN Next is an illustrated history of the
virtual world of Second Life from 2002 until today.

SLNN Next will debut at the Second Life Community Convention in August in Chicago.

SLNN Next also offers an outlook on the future. SLNN’s reporters and
editors, special guests and contributing columnists will offer their views on SL’s
evolution. SLNN Next’s guest columnists from U.S. universities and Silicon Valley
tech fi rms will answer the question: What will the future hold for Second Life?

SLNN Next will take readers through SL’s population change and diversification.
In the beginning, the SL community was made up of computer geeks and
Internet wizards, and has become a broad and international community.

The print run is 10,000 copies on 100 lb. paper with 100 lb. covers for
extra durability and longer shelf life. It’s the perfect coffee table book.

Metaverse Messenger 2nd Annual Real World Print Edition

As we did last August, the Metaverse Messenger will once again publish a real world printed edition of the M2 the week of the Second Life Community Convention, scheduled for August 24-26 at the Hilton Chicago. The special M2 will be published August 21 and the real world copies will be available at SLCC and by request afterward. 10,000 copies of the real world M2 will be published.

There will be 60 pages in the SLCC edition; six sections with ten pages each — News, Entertainment, Community, Fashion, Lifestyles and SLCC.

The front and back pages of each section will be full color. The first page of each section will only have a front page underline ad space — the one inch high, full width space that you see each week on page one of the regular M2.
