Journalist Credentials

Only The Future United (TFU) Board of Directors, has the ability to grant ‘Journalist’ designation to those requesting it. We are looking at the event and trying to come up with an understanding that respects both the privacy of presenters, as well as the need for journalists to do their job. We feel that the following statement captures the essence of balance we are aiming to strike.

‘Journalist’ - Anyone directly representing a periodic publication (Blog, Podcast, Vlog, Daily, Journal, Picayune, Herald, Messenger, Group Blog, Newspaper, TV show, Cable Network, Documentary Film Maker, and the like) seeking credentials to interview people for their publication. Those with Journalist credentials must respect the rules of the Hilton Chicago with regards to their filming policy.

The ‘Journalist’ Designation DOES NOT in any way, shape or form afford or allow the following rights and privileges:
- Recording and / or rebroadcasting audio or video of sessions independent of Phreak Radio.
- Unfettered access to presenters, panelists, musicians, VIPs, sponsors, board members, and attendees.
- Exclusive story leads furnished by TFU about or regarding presenters, panelists, musicians, VIPs, sponsors or attendees.
- The right to disrupt the natural flow of the conference events, or disturb other attendees.
- Dedicated internet access for uploading stories.
- A free pass.

‘Journalists’ have the rights and privileges to:
- To request assistance from TFU for scheduling interviews.
- The right to request space for interviews, providing there is space open.
- The privilege of receiving an advance listing of presenters through which they can schedule interviews in advance.

We reserve the right to ask anyone to leave the event, and we will ask journalists to do so if they are not following the guidelines above. We want to grant ‘Journalists’ as much access as possible, but our first and foremost concern is the experience of the attendees. I appreciate comments below, particularly from those wanting credentials. Make them constructive comments, please.
